During the 60s and 70s Jack Messer was a very important figure in the development of the local audio scene, designing and constructing innovative amplifiers and speakers and staging Adelaides first public stereo sound demonstration. This passion for music spread to sons John and Peter and was the impetus for the family opening Blackwood Sound Centre in 1971. Today, Blackwood Sound Centre has become one of the most reputable HIFI & CD retail outlets in Australia.
